Kelechi Ubozoh


Kelechi Ubozoh is a Nigerian-American singer, writer, and mental health advocate. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Kelechi holds a BA in journalism from Purchase College, and was the first undergraduate ever published in The New York Times. She wrote for The New York Amsterdam News, Westchester Magazine, Kitu Kizuri, The Sound and Town, and was featured in The Quill. She presented at the at UC Berkeley’s 29th Annual Empowering Women of Color Conference and the 7th International Together Against Stigma Conference. This year she is featured in The S Word, a documentary following the lives of suicide attempt survivors in an effort to eliminate stigma of mental health issues. Her work was recently published in an Anthology of San Francisco Area Writers & Artists of Color, called Endangered Species, Enduring Values from Pease Press.
