I was born in New Jersey to a poet mother and an illustrator father, and my life has become a prime example of that proverbial apple falling—bonk—right at the base of the tree. After a childhood of journaling, drawing, and music-making, I moved to Canada to study Classical Music Performance at Le Conservatoire de Musique de Québec and English Literature at McGill University. I soon started contributing articles, poetry, and illustrations to the McGill Daily newspaper. Since then, I have gone on to complete an MA in Creative Writing from University College Cork in Ireland, to publish my work in The New Yorker, Field, and The Stinging Fly, and to receive Eyewear Publishing’s Fortnight Prize. My debut poetry collection The Remaining Years is forthcoming from Alabaster Leaves, an imprint of Kelsay Books. A former adjunct writing instructor at Richard Stockton University, I currently live between Nova Scotia and New Zealand.
